Again, too low below the hip.  For lack of contrasting colored under dress (selection was getting slim with a heavy schedule of events before giving birth) I looked like a house!  Surcote has a navy linen top with silver plackets down the front and orchid-y linen bottom.  For coronation a month earlier I wore my wedding cote-hardie beneath this which is the same color as the skirt, but in raw silk, laced up the back.  I had made a panel with which to span the gap.  Cotes are quite pliable in the 10 gore design.
